Fine Art, Graphic Design and Photography by emerging Local Artists
This September Reunion Gallery will be presenting work from ten recent University Campus Suffolk graduates. Over the past three years these emerging artists have had the opportunity to indulge themselves, not only in critical theory, but in developing their creative style within the safety of an educational environment.
Being a student ‘provided me with a solid base, both creatively and technically’ said Nicki Cockshaw and Sarah Castle believed that she was encouraged to think of ‘different ways to make art that I would otherwise not have considered’.
The Professional Development Award from the Reunion Gallery has now enabled these chosen graduates to develop their degree show projects for the commercial arena.
Reunion Gallery’s Dick Daniels says ‘It is really exciting to be able to show this range of new talent all at once. It has always been part of Reunion Gallery’s philosophy to showcase local emerging artists and these recent Graduates from UCS fit the bill very well.’
The graduates are thrilled with the prize and are all enjoying getting involved with all aspects of organising the exhibition as well as developing their ideas and practice. ‘Winning the Reunion Gallery Prize at the end of my final year was a great reassurance’ said Susanna Miller. Tracie Falcucci added ‘the Gallery has put their confidence in us and we would all like to thank them for the professional advice, support and encouragement we have been given’.
This will prove to be an exciting and eclectic exhibition for the gallery visitors.
