“My work is based on both observation and also imagination in order to capture the feel of the local countryside and sea shore, both natural and man made.
I use abstract pieces of glass to depict a landscape or natural form, incorporating copper foil and wire to provide an effect similar to drawing. Coloured glass is brought into play reflecting the changing moods of weather
and light.
For the 2011 exhibition I have also created some work based on old photographs inherited from my Mother. These depict a rural way of life that has long gone. By using a scraffito technique to etch into a wash of cobalt and adding texture I hope to make these images come to life.
