“ My work often attempts to capture the quiet drama and changing moods of the landscape of East Suffolk where I have lived and worked for over thirty five years. Although the work sometimes features familiar landmarks I generally try to seek out the more subtle theatricality of open fields, big skies, marshland or those seemingly insignificant but intimate landscape corners which beg to be explored. The work often makes reference as much to the weather, the time of day or the time of year as to specific locations and it is the emotional ‘pull’ of these ever changing elements that I try to address. I do this chiefly through etching and monotype printmaking; but after more than ten years of exploration I am still striving to manage the fickle nature of these remarkable media and still fascinated by the possibilities that they present ”
