Alison Malcolm
I’ve always painted and rarely a day goes by without putting some colour down on paper or canvas or recording a detail that appeals with my camera. I fill sketch books with drawings, colour, photos, scraps of paper and found objects, and I keep a memory sketch book too. This includes the daily trivia of my life – ideas, photos, sketches, scraps, it could even be to record a colour that catches my eye.
In the coming year I shall be working on abstract expressionistic images inspired by aerial views of Suffolk. Semi-abstract land and seascapes continue to give me pleasure, especially when executedin a bold palette and a fluid style, so I’ll be spending time out and about, planning and painting more in this genre
